Reflection #2
One of our assignments was to look at other teachers blogs online. I was very encouraged by this and found that teacher blogs can be very useful. Mr. Avery's blog posts his assignments online, so if one of his students forgets or misses they can read over or watch what they learned. His videos are really great and the kids are having so much fun while learning and even teaching the other kids. I want to be able to have a blog or website for my students that can really help them and give them great tools for learning that is fun and engaging. The kids will always remember these silly little videos.

Reflection #1
In my instructional design class I found it very helpful that my professor, Professor Garrett showed us how to use a document camera. Including, how to lift it up, zoom it in and much more. Not only did she use the document camera very well, but she also knew it was an important little peice of technology that could easily be overlooked, but it is very important. I like when Professors stop for little teaching moments that will greatly benefit me as a student. This encourages me to take little teachable moments even if it seems off task, because evn the little things can be greatly valued and appreciated by students.
Week #8 Game Website
http://quizhub.com/quiz/quizhub.cfm
Quiz Hub is a website for ages k-10. There are many different types of quizzes and games for all ages. It has almost all subjects on it including reading and writing. One of the games is with SAT vocabulary (wrting and reading). Another example of games used wirh reaing and writing is an English puzzle with the focus on Homophones. There are other languages, geography, sciences, math, and all subjects and ages to chose from. These games would be a great way for students to have fun and take in information. It could be used in the classroom to better understand the material for self checking and it can also be used as a study guide for a quiz that you, as the teacher, may give. In my classroom situation I may also quiz the kids wih one of these Quiz Hub quizzes in order for them to go over materials and ask questions when needed.

week #7 Teacher Blog
http://classblogmeister.com/blog.php?blogger_id=1337
I picked Mr. Cassidy's classroom blog. Mrs. Cassidy posts videos of her students on her blog and they express how they feel about special days and what kind of tings they did in class that day. One of these videos were about the 100th day. She had her kids use a slight form of math with centering everything in class that day around the number 100. She even had her kids demonstrate how to subtract with hands on objects. The kids taught how to do it and showed it in the video. I found this very intresting and a great idea for kids! I really like how almost all of Mrs. Cassidy's assignments involved hands on interactions.

week #6 Generation IM article response.
From this Generation IM article I really notice how much 21st century kids (including me) rely on technology. It has truly taken over and changed the way in which children's minds work. It has become a norm rather than a privilege.
In science classes technology can be used to enhance the lessons. Every day in science they are learning how to do new things in the lab such as learning cures to diseases and just looking more clearly and closely at bacterias and other objects. Videos can help make scientific processes more clear to the children. Also the use of activboards and other technology tools really brings the students into focus and intrigued more by science as they love using technology ( watching TV and playing video games) outside of school as some of their hobbies as well.

Teacher-
Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity
I am asking students to think and get involve in the lesson while still leading and guiding them.
Design and Develop Digital Age Learning Experiences
The smart board is a great technology based leaning that encourages students to be involved with technology. I developed it purely technologically based.

Critical Thinking, Problem Solving and Decision Making
The students are encouraged to do critical thinking, problem solving and decision making about what answers are correct.
Improve learning: An interactive white board could improve student learning because many students learn better with actually visualizing lessons and they can see the end result come alive as its happening. It can also make class more fun and encourage the students to be involved with the assignment and task at hand. More information is retained when the students enjoy their learning and the interactive white boards provide that.

week #4 Smartboard
What did you learn about the SMART Board this week?
I learned that the smart board already has many great programs installed into the smartboard itself that you can use (premade lessons). I also learned aboutall the great graphics it has and how to search and find those. When messing around with the smartboard Ifound myself having a lot of fun and really enjoying the technology. I found, from firsthand experience that the smartboard is a lot of fun and a great way to learn. I also learnd how to get stuents ivolved with th smartboard wheter its in small groups or with a whole clas..
What questions do you still have about using an interactive white board?
1. What is the most effective way to have the kids interact with the smartboard (groups, whole class, individually)
2. What kind of times would it be uneffective to use a smartboard?
3. Should smartboard games be an award for a class being good?
4. What percentage of teachers with smartboards use them daily in class?
5. Do the boards have a lot of malfunctions or glitches?
